We're excited to announce one of our amazing gala speakers: Neiva Guedes! Guedes is a Brazilian biologist and conservationist whose work has helped preserve the Hyacinth Macaw, a parrot native to eastern and central South America. Guedes started working with Hyacinth Macaws in 1989 and has continued for more than 30 years. Once on the edge of extinction, the Hyacinth Macaw has been able to flourish in many areas of the Pantanal in Brazil thanks to Guedes and other conservationists. Guedes is also President of the Instituto Arara Azul and a professor and researcher at the Universidad Anhanguera-Uniderp.
